I have created this website as a place for cancer patients to come and feel supported between hospital visits.
I understand how you feel. I had three years of chemotherapy, two major surgeries and a terminal diagnosis.
You can find out more about me by reading my story.
But while I have you here, I want you to know that this website isn’t here to just educate you about cancer. There are a million websites and organisations doing amazing work to help inform cancer patients.
I want this website to be a place of hope. I want this website and our community to inspire you, support your well-being, and show you a more positive way through cancer treatment.
Cancer was the wake-up call I needed to change my life, to live the way I knew I should be living.
Me and the community will give you views from every perspective. You’ll find information about mindset, fitness, nutrition and even more; but the important thing is that you take what you need from it. What Next is a reminder to look after ourselves, especially if you have cancer.
But it’s also a reminder that there is a future beyond this moment, and it’s time to put yourself first and not give up!
John and Victoria’s paths crossed at a cancer support group.
They quickly realised they shared the same approach to cancer treatment – using complementary therapies alongside their NHS treatment – and found it to be beneficial to their health and well-being. However, they were frustrated with the limited information available to cancer patients. To address this issue, they created a website where everyone could find ways to navigate cancer treatment more positively.
You can find out more about John and Victoria on their inspirational story page.
Welcome to what-next.org, a community supporting those recently diagnosed with cancer.
Our goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment where individuals can feel connected and never alone on their journey. Our mission is to promote a positive mindset and encourage self-care. By fostering a sense of community, sharing uplifting stories, and providing support, we can empower every person with cancer to discover their inner strength and navigate the challenges ahead.
Our website features blog posts written by professionals who specialise in the cancer field.
These practitioners have extensive experience working with cancer patients of all stages and backgrounds.
Their goal is to provide valuable insights that can help you shift your mindset when it comes to cancer and offer new perspectives on how to navigate the disease.
If you have a story to share about your battle with cancer and believe it could inspire others, we’d be honoured to feature it on our website.
Additionally, we are always seeking more cancer practitioners to write about their experiences working with patients.
We want all our community to use What Next as a resource to help them manage every stage of their cancer treatment with our practical and lived experience that we provide. However, if you have any questions about your treatment, we insist that our readers go and visit and trained medical professional, as all our resources and articles are still the opinion (no matter how informed) of our community and volunteers.
While we work with professionals and experts actively working in health, wellbeing, nutrition and the medical fields, in order to create the best resources for our community; they all work on a volunteer basis, so their advice should be taken as advisory and not explicit medical advice.
While we do our best to verify and check any claims and opinions written on What Next by our volunteer writers, the articles and content published on the site is still the opinion of each individual writer and does not reflect the thoughts or opinions of What Next or its organisers as a whole.
What Next has been created with the purpose of providing support and inspiration to cancer patients that there is a Next beyond their cancer treatment. As part of being a member of our community, we ask that any readers take any advice provided on this website within the context of their own treatment, lifestyle and health. What Next cannot be held responsible for members who follow advice that goes against the guidance of their physician or current state of health.
All our resources are provided by members of our group. From practical experiences to advice from medics and health professionals, give it a try and see if it helps you!
